My husband and I tried HUNAN GOURMET when on vacation. They was local and we was hungry. Anyway, I first tried their Philly Chicken Steak Hoagie and I have to say that it was PERFECT! Their bread wasn't all over cooked and crusty. It was packed full of chicken, and it tasted like a true PHILLY CHICKEN! My Hubby had the chicken fried rice, and he loved it! We loved it so much we went back another day to try their wings and fries. OKAY I HAVE TO SAY THIS, " THOSE WINGS ARE SO TASTY!" If you stop by, try the wings! My HUBBY said the sauce is GOOD TOO!! You will be surprised that a Asian food restaurant delivers such great tasting wings. {NO OFFENSE} They fry better than any soul food restaurant! Even the service was great, as they offered us free soda's with our meals. An unexpected surprise for sure!! Try it, you will be HOOKED TO HUNAN GOURMET! P.S. Oh and I must mention this place is pick up and delivery only. It is not a sit down restaurant, even still the food is on POINT!

Haven't been here in a year. The location had moved so we had to yelp it to find them. Very scary area. Food wasn't as good as before. I was looking forward to the general tso chicken because it was so go. Not anymore. Won't be coming back to dine here again.

Really cool restaurant. Although there's no place to sit down and eat inside, they make really good food. I usually place delivery orders and they're very quick getting the food to me (probably because I'm a regular). I usually get the chicken wings with mambo sauce, but sometimes they overcook the chicken a little if they're not taking their time. They're general tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and combination fried rice are all good. Not too sure about anything else though.

I tried Hunan Gourmet after reading the reviews. Both were positive and one was within the last month and very glowing. However, that was not my experience. Because I only had the "Explore the Menu" option available on Yelp, and knowing how these menus can be out of date, I decided to go with a pretty standard order of Shrimp and Garlic Sauce, Egg Roll, Spring Roll, Shrimp Lo Mein, and Egg Drop Soup. The Shrimp and Garlic sauce had little flavor - the vegetables were a little too overdone, the shrimp may have been frozen because they weren't fresh tasting, like they had been cooked from frozen and not thawed out. Also, it was supposed to be spicy and it wasn't. Really not good quality. Both the egg roll and the spring rolls were greasy and mushy. The hot mustard wasn't even hot. It was slightly aged looking (like it had been sitting around and started to darken). I only ate about 1/4 of the shrimp and garlic sauce and 1/2 the egg roll and 1/2 one of the spring rolls. I then tried the shrimp lo mein, tasting about 2 forkfuls and what I had was pretty good. The best thing was the egg drop soup. I had about 3 or 4 spoonfuls, enough to convince me I'd eat the rest tomorrow. I won't be eating the shrimp and garlic sauce. It was really bad.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
